Will Naomi Campbell Design Fiorucci’s Denim Collection?
Being the world Supermodel might not be enough for Naomi Campbell as she just announced her collaboration with Fiorucci, in designing jeans collection, bringing back the 70s glories of the brand.
These first new lines of Naomi’s denim design for the Italian brand will be featured at Milan Fashion Week Menswear for the Spring Summer 2012 collection, expecting this coming Saturday.

However, this announcement of British supermodel might be considered as a rumor, since the Italian brand Fiorucci hasn’t been participating at any fashion week for years, as well as the brand seems has no recent schedule at any runway events, especially in such short time for this Saturday. Moreover, there are also no entries on prices and items description, including the worldwide availability of the collection.
On the other hand, if this news is reliable, it’s going to be the great comeback of Fiorucci’s old time glories in seventies, when the brand has attracted worldwide trendsetters from Andy Warhol to a young Madonna.
At the early 90s the company went bankrupt by poor management, and was sold to the Japanese denim group Edwin Co., Ltd. Now, Fiorucci has been acquired by Ittierre, who also holds licenses for Balmain, C’N’C’ Costume National, Galliano and Ermanno by Ermanno Scervino.
Interestingly, Ittierre is probably behind this collaboration, since the great lost of its Just Cavalli license to the Staff International, the company saw an opportunity for returning their profit after securing two important licenses, including Balmain’s men and women second line, and now Fiorucci, which is required to earn up to 50 million euros of sales, according to Ittierre’s forecasts.
