Some extremely furry, Yeti- sized creations, beastly Mongolian coats and skirts, as well as shaggy black leather looks and shocking oranges are presented during London Fashion Week catwalk of Mulberry Fall Winter 2012-2013, dedicated to an American singer-songwriter, Lana Del Rey
Along with the label’s traditional runway dog appearance featuring an adorable Puli dog, the parade showed both casual and dressy attire, showing the versatility of Mulberry’s iconic style with plenty of vivid colors, combined with the hottest shades of brown, ivory, deep blue and black on a heady mix of textures, shimmers, glams, knits and furs.
The bright color, which was believed the “IT” color of 2012 dominated Mulberry’s runway as it was shown on apparel, shoes and handbags. Exclusively for the iconic satchel bags, simple Del Rey came in sparkly blue embossed crocodile and a gold snake print, or even in black shearling combined with new versions of classics like the Lily and the Alexa, which some are also designed in matching colors with the clothes.
Among the collection there were intricate fabrications such as woven leather, laser cut-out leather and colorful tweeds, which mixed up in belted layers with big chunky hand-knits, tiger prints, lace, and slick lacquered wool. In addition, there were also classic parkas in a splash prints, or in sober inky-blue nylon, and bomber jacket in quilted black or pumpkin-orange leather. But surely the must-have lovely structured leather flap bags are the stars in this runway.
