In the world of fashion, August is the busiest month in a year. Firstly, because it’s a month before the next spring summer fashion week, featuring another color trend for next year season.
Secondly it’s also a month when all fabric designers and fashion forecasters get together and have their Autumn Winter Color Trend and Textile design show, preparing for the next year fashion color trends.
For fashion color trend autumn winter 2011-2012, The Direction by Indigo International Exhibition of Creative Textile Design Show was held at 3rd and 4th of 2010 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City, giving us the ideas to plan the most up to trend fashionable wardrobe ahead.
As for the color trends, continuing bright, colorful and playful color trends of spring summer 2011, the color trends for autumn winter 2011-2012 were not the typical gloomy colors like other autumn winter typical colors. Instead, many designers have proposed such lively and shiny colors to give warmth for cold season.
Both for men and women has a quite different color shade trend with the same basic concept that is neutral and earthy colors. For woman, the basic color ranges come in maroon, camel and caramels, combined with purple, orange, red, and vivid tones like gold, teal and turquoise. Whereas for the man, the basic color ranges come in blue, perry, and camel, combined with orange, navy, chocolate, and vivid tones like yellow, teal, and blue
Here are some color trend advices for us to choose during autumn winter 2011-2012:
1. Soft Color is quite essential shades in autumn winter, as for this season, the colors should be less bright than those for spring summer. Less bright colors don’t necessarily equal to gloomy shades like black, grey and brown, but we can opt many colorful shades in more subtle and subdued rather than flashy. Soft colors we can choose for this year cold season, for example are lavender, cantaloupe, spindrift, or honeydew. 2. Mood-improving bright details are also featured at some runways, giving ideas on how to keep warm during the season. All colors and prints might not be a key color for this season, as many designers have given less attention on the single and focused more on the color and prints combination. Color blocking is still in while keeping in mind to stay low, subtle and soft for our best appearance.
