Nowadays, the luxurious world of fashion is no longer offered exclusively for some people, as some prestigious fashion brands start to make collaboration with department store for selling their items.
Eventually, this is what Karl Lagerfeld has called as masstige (the mass of luxury), means that luxurious products now can be sold in mass productions at every department stores.
Such collaboration has been done by Missoni who created a collection for Target department store, and is called Missoni for Target. The collection will be huge, not at all a capsule collection of little pieces as often happens in collaborations with famous designers. Instead, it will consist of 400 pieces that will be launched in the store between mid September and late October.
The style is familiar to Missoni, always incredibly fascinating with evocations of colorful prints, and undoubtedly recognizable. The collection will include everything from clothes all for women, men and children, to bed sheets, to enough dinnerware to set the table for colazione, pranzo, and cena, and all in plenty of Missoni’s swirls, zigzags, and near-hallucinogenic florals. Ranging in price from US$2.99 to US$599.99, with most items less than US$40.
Angela Missoni said she was excited about this American experience. And, it seems not only her who excited about this collaboration, but most Americans would love and can’t wait to see what they come up with.
